Driving Pan-African Trade: Reflections from the 6th Diaspora Africa Conference (DACON)

Driving Pan-African Trade: Reflections from the 6th Diaspora Africa Conference (DACON)
FEBRUARY 28, 2026

Insights and perspectives from Access View Africa leadership.

At Access View Africa, we believe that the African diaspora represents a massive, untapped engine for continental economic transformation. Recently, our Founder and CEO had the distinct privilege of anchoring the Invest in Ghana Workshop at the 6th Edition of the Diaspora Africa Conference (DACON) in Houston, Texas, an initiative we co-organized alongside the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).

DACON has proven to be far more than just a conference. It is a melting pot where ideas meet opportunity, where diaspora capital meets African potential, and where high-level conversations turn into rapid execution.

Tangible Collaborations and Impact

Over the past two years of our journey with DACON, we have utilized this powerful platform to forge tangible, cross-border partnerships that are actively building the infrastructure of tomorrow:

  • Technovate Health Fellowship: In collaboration with Kike Oduba, we launched this initiative to train healthcare professionals on leveraging AI and technology to enhance innovation in African healthcare. Following a highly successful launch, we are currently planning our second cohort in Ghana.
  • PAPSS Integration: Access View Africa has deepened its strategic partnership with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS). Acting as a liquidity provider, we are enabling diaspora businesses to trade across Africa using local currencies, drastically reducing settlement bottlenecks and unlocking true continental commerce.

Spotlighting Ghana: From Vision to Velocity

Day 2 of DACON 2026 shifted the conversation from the "Why" to the "How," placing a massive spotlight on Ghana. Anchoring this session, we worked alongside a high-level GIPC delegation—including Yusif Mustapha—to showcase why Ghana remains a premier gateway for Diaspora capital.

The GIPC presented a clear roadmap for partnership, highlighting Ghana's trajectory toward a $112B economy and outlining five priority sectors primed for immediate diaspora engagement:

  1. Agribusiness & Value Addition
  2. The "Big Push" Infrastructure (Logistics, Rail, Expressway)
  3. Manufacturing & Industrial Enclaves
  4. Digital Services & Tech Ecosystem
  5. Renewable Energy Solutions

The Road Ahead

The energy in the "Opportunity Room" was electric. Witnessing tech founders, real estate developers, and impact investors engage directly with the GIPC proved that the bridge between Houston and Accra is stronger than ever. The Ghanaian government, through "One-Stop-Shop" services and strategic incentives, is actively removing friction for diaspora investors.

We extend our special appreciation to the indefatigable Amb. Eze Chukwu, President of DACON, for creating and sustaining a platform where purpose, partnerships, and progress converge.

For diaspora professionals looking to the continent: The "Ghana Project" is moving fast. At Access View Africa, we are already at the table, building the bridges required for seamless market entry. Join us.
